How To Remove Grease (motor oil, animal fat, mayonnaise, salad dressing, butter, cooking oil, and car grease) Stains From Silk
Silk generally should be dry cleaned. Always follow garment label instructions when pretreating and laundering your clothes. For colored garments, test an inside seam for colorfastness.
If the garment is washable, pretreated with Purex® detergent for light grease stain. Then launder in the warmest water recommended on the garment. For heavy stains, place garment face down on clean paper towels. Apply Purex® Complete with Zout® detergent to the back of the stain. Blot with paper towels; replacing towels frequently. Let air dry; rinse. Then launder in the warmest water recommended on the garment. Avoid cleaning silk with laundry products containing enzymes.
